the 7.5" calendar plate from 1915 depicts the route the S.S. Panama took.

(The Canal had been worked on by France in 1881-after that it was taken over by the US in 1904 and opened in 1914. It was one of the largest, most difficult projects ever undertaken. The S.S. Panama was the 1st excursion ship to go through the Panama Canal 2/7/1915!

The ceramic dish is gold plated around the edge and on the back marked: "Compliments C.R. Cave South Chicago Quality Store Furniture and Pianos Easy Payments"
