Ok this is an original 1889 oak puzzle style tool box from sewing machine
beautiful oak lined in purple velvet that is darkened and dirty with age.
there are no metal parts to hold tools inside. The box was originally for sewing machine tools and parts.

The construction of the box is amazing! see photos. The box is in quite beautiful condition.
