Vintage East Asian character compass in box with string Rare, Unique

Vintage Compass in box
From about the 50's

the compass has a cross of string on the outside of it.
the outside of the compass has western numbers as well as East Asian characters to read.

it is 3" by 3" and firs into a box. the entire thing is in great condition but the top of the box is disattached from the bottom. Some glue may actually make it better.

This item is very unique and rare as I havent found any others like it before!
